Who occupies the forest while we sleep?! This week we will be learning all about the creatures who are awake, while we’re at home sleeping. We will use games and activities to explore the adaptations that allow these animals to thrive at night.
Week Two: Natures Rainbow (6/22-6/26)
Colors and Art! We will use our five senses to observe and create art based on the natural world. With the color wheel as our guide, we will use inspiration and materials from nature to make: mandalas, collages, paintings, dyes and music.
Week Three: Petals and Pollinators (6/29-7/2, NO CAMP 7/3) Prorated Price for Holiday
We will be exploring the plant life cycle and the important role of pollinators. We will use science projects and observations to identify the specific parts of a plant, and how those parts function. We will include games and activities to celebrate pollinators.
Week Four: Enchanted Forest (7/6-7/10)
Experience the magical and enchanted forest! This week is dedicated to exploring the magic of the forest, using our imaginations to tell stories and connect with nature. We will be making: herbal sun tea, fairy/ gnome houses and wands. Children will learn mapping and compass skills, through an enchanted scavenger hunt.
Week Five: Water Week (7/13-7/17)
Dive into Water Week! Campers will splash, explore, and discover the magic of water through hands-on creek play and nature discovery. Using sifters and simple tools, children will search for tiny creek critters, rocks, and learn where water comes from.
Week Six: Bugs, bugs, BUGS! (7/20-7/23, NO CAMP 7/24) Prorated Price for Holiday
Look out, creepy crawlies! This week we will be exploring all things bugs. We will get up close and personal, with fun tools like bug catchers and magnifying glasses. We will learn about the anatomy of insects, read bug stories, make bug crafts and create insect habitats.
Week Seven: Dinosaur Adventure (7/27-7/31)
Utah is home to some of the coolest dinosaur fossils ever discovered. We will be celebrating the prehistoric creatures that once roamed Utah and this earth, through our own archeological dig, games, activities and stories.
Week Eight: Birds (8/3-8/7)
What birds live around us? What do they eat? Where do they live? We will spend this week exploring the birds that we share a home with. We will build our own birds’ nests, make bird feeders, bird watch and read stories.
“We must teach our children to smell the earth, to taste the rain, to touch the wind, to see things grow, to hear the sun rise and night fall – to care.”
